BENEFITS OF FLAX SEED OIL

Flax Seed Oil, also known as linseed Oil or Flax Oil, is an Oil harvested from the dried, ripe seeds of the Flax Plant.  Like other Oils, it is released through the pressing of these seeds.

The reason this Oil is so healthy is that It has a high concentration of Omega-3 fatty acids.  We already knows that Omega-3 are important to overall health & body function that they support the cardiovascular, pulmonary, immune & respiratory systems.

We need Omega-3 to function properly & our bodies crave them. These fatty acids are found in foods like nuts, seeds, fish & soybeans as well as in Oils like flaxseed oil, but the high concentration of them in Flax seed oil will help us to get more of them even more easily.

Further, there are different types of Omega-3 & while they are all beneficial to our health, specific one found in Flaxseed Oil is Alpha-linolenic acid, also known as ALA.  Our bodies don’t make this type of fat on their own because it is plant-based. However, we can still benefit from it because our bodies will convert it to the types it does need  for us.  This makes Flaxseed Oil a great way for vegans & vegetarians to get their needed Omega-3.

Flaxseed Oil has other components that bolster our overall health as well.  It includes proteins that help decrease heart disease risk factors.  The fiber within it helps combat constipation.  Flaxseed Oil also has within it minerals our bodies need like Calcium, Magnesium & Phosphorus.  Best of all, Flaxseed Oil contains phenolic compounds to help protect us from cancer.

Contains Healthy Fatty Acids

Coconut oil is high in certain saturated fats.  These fats have different effects in the body compared with most other dietary fats. The fatty acid in coconut oil can encourage your body to burn fat & they provide quick energy to your body & brain. They also raise HDL (good) cholesterol in your blood, which may help reduce heart disease risk.

 Boost Heart Health

Coconut is an uncommon food in the western world, with health-conscious people being the main consumers. Researchers reported that Coconut Oil is not only good overall health but also very low rates of heart disease.

Encourage Fat burning

While some people think obesity is just a matter of how many calories someone eats, the source of those calories is important, too.  Different foods affect your body & hormones in different ways. The MCTs in Coconut Oil can increase the number of calories your body burns compared with longer chain fatty acids.

 Antimicrobial Effects

Lauric acid makes up about 50% of the fatty acids in Coconut Oil.  When our body digests lauric acid, it forms a substance called Monolauri. Both lauric acid & Monolaurin can kill harmful pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses & fungi.

 Raise HDL (Good) Cholesterol

Coconut Oil contains natural saturated fats that increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels in your body.  They may also help turn LDL (bad) cholesterol into a less harmful form. By increasing HDL, many experts believe that Coconut Oil may boost heart health compared with many other fats.

Protect your Skin, Hair & Teeth

Coconut Oil has many uses that have nothing to do with eating it. Many people use it for cosmetic purposes to improve the health & appearance of their Skin & Hair. Oil pulling, which involves swishing Coconut Oil in your mouth like mouthwash, may kill some of the harmful bacteria in the mouth.  This may improve dental health & reduce bad breath.

Help To Reduce Harmful Abdominal Fat

As some of the fatty acids in Coconut Oil can reduce appetite & increase fat burning. It may also help to lose weight. Abdominal fat, or visceral fat, lodges in the abdominal cavity & around our organs.  MCTs appear to be especially effective at reducing belly fat compared to LCTs.  Abdominal fat, the most harmful type, is linked to many chronic diseases.
